PREMIER AND M. STALIN

(Rec. 11 a.m.) RUGBY, Oct. 6. Answering Mr Greenwood (Lab., Wakefield), in the House of Commons, Mr Churchill said: “I have read and considered the statement made by M. Stalin and we are quite clear that no statement from His Majesty’s Government is called for at the present time further than those already made on this particular subject.”—Official Wireless. According to a London report, Mr Churchill asked members not to press for a statement at ‘"this significant time.” The United States Ambassador to Russia (Admiral Standley) is going to Washington to discuss the war situation with the Government. Admiral Standley has conferred with M. Molotov and will see M. Stalin before leaving.
