GREEK PEASANTS ANGRY

ants’ crops by the Italian Cara-
binieri lias caused bloody clashes between the peasants and Italian troops, according to the Greek
Office of Information
Tobacco growers burned their crops and the farmers of Peloponnesos threw their currant and raisin crops into the sea rather than hand them over to the Italians. In reprisal the Italians seized numerous hostages, confiscating their property. Greek guerrillas entered the struggle, freeing a number of hostages. Clashes are still continuing in many parts of Greece.
