AUCKLAND, Sept. 28. The recent trouble on the Waikato coalfield is estimated to have caused a loss of production of about 53,000 tons. The first stoppage occurred on the morning of Thursday, September 3, when the Pukemiro miners held a stopwork mectiug 'and decided to eeaso work till the wages of the men. concerning whom the dispute originated were made up to the minimum. The stoppage became general on September 8. The miners themselves are estimated to have lost £25.000 in wages.
