Lord Croft, joint Under-Secre-tary for War, in a speech said that people, should not lose sight of the scope of the British war effort. In this war, Lord Croft added, British troops bad fought on 14 fronts and had inflicted casualties on more than 600,000 of the enemy.. The R.A.F. had assisted Russia considerably by "pulling out of the sky' 10,000 Luftwaffe machines. When the history of tho war came to be written the amazing story of the way in which supplies were sent to Russia would tell of the greatest sacrifices of all time by any nation, at a period when our most vital need was ships.
