AGRICULTURAL CLUBS
The committee of the Manawatu-Oroua division of the Boys’ and Girls’ Agricultural Clubs movement in Feilding met to decide upon arrangements for the coming competitions, Mr E. 11. Lange (agricultural officer, Wanganui Education Board) reported that entries for tho calf competition totalled 498, which 'was an increase on those for last year, and entries for the plots totalled 283, which represented a slight decrease. Vegetable seeds had cost more this year and lie had impressed on tho children entering the plots competition that they must finish. and not enter and give up. Last year only 63 per cent, of the child! oil finished and it was expected that 93 per cent, would finish for the coming. competition. The meeting carried a resolution of appreciation of tho outstanding work of Mr Lange. Donations towards the funds of the movement were acknowledged from the Feilding A. and P. Association, £6 6s and from the Rongotea Dairy Coy., £1 Is.
