STATE HOUSE EXCHANGES

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 26. The Minister of Housing (Mr Armstrong) made it clear, in response to an inquiry to-day, that it is not in order for State tenants to make more than tentative arrangements for an exchange of houses without the approval of the State Advances Corporation. He said exchanges Will be permitted only between tenants in the same town and under no circumstances could an exchange Ire negotiated between a State tenant and a tenant of privately-owned property.
