WOMEN'S WORLD
("By Nanette.")
To mark the valued service given by Miss C. McKenny when she was matron of the Wanganui Hospital, the Hospital Board has decided to name its new tuberculosis wards the McKenny Block. Miss McKenny now resides in Pahiatua.
A vote of sympathy with Mrs T. Saunders, who is in hospital, and with Mrs W. Wilson, of College Street, whose son has been wounded on active service, was moved by Mrs M. Aitchison (president) at a meeting of the Hospital Women's Auxiliary. The secretary (Mrs S. J. Parkes) was instructed to forward letters to both members. A grant of £3O from the City Council was acknowledged, also a generous donation from the St. John District Nursing Guild. It was decided to purchase two loom? and spinning wheels for Miss Everett's occupational therapy work at the Hospital, and the question of purchasing materials was discussed. Bequests for assistance were dealt with and arrangements made to service the A.N.A. Club next month.
