London. —A search is being made throughout the country for three of the 11 German war prisoners who escaped from an internment camp in the north-west of England. The eight others have been recaptured. They were found under the floor-boards of the sports pavilion at the camp. Chungking.—The Japanese authorities have imposed a blockade on the foreign populated sections of Shanghai in order to terrorise persons sheltering Chinese guerrillas, whose activities arcincreasingly bothersome. The blockade has resulted in a severe food shortage in the French Concession.
