| ARMED FORCES BOARD. The following arc further decisions lof the No. 4A. Armed Forces Appeal Hoard, which yesterday continued its sitting in Palmerston North: — ! P. D. Scars, agrostologitit, of Palmerston North, appeal by Director of National Service; not to be called before -May 4. J. \V. Foster, agricultural contractor, of Taikorea, appeal by F. J. Foster (Mr F. J. Oakley); adjourned sine die, to remain in the -Home Guard. C. H. Wells, theological student, W. J. Sawyer, accountant and teacher, and \V. 0. Sharp, theological student, all of Longburn, appealed against combatant service on conscientious grounds and the N.'A. College appealed also for Sawyer, with the addition also that appeals on the grounds of public interest were laid for all three; all three appeals dismissed, reservists to do noncombatant Territorial service from December 20, 1941, to March 20, 1942. P. Ferguson, dicsei and electrical engineer, appeal by l'almcrston North City Council; adjourned sine die. A. 1. Haywood, Army private, formerly of Palmerston North, appeal by Director of National Service; lippeal allowed for immediate release, from camp, the chairman remarking that the case was one of particular hardship. Tho board was asked to review a Jecision affecting K. 1... Wiggins and G. R. Wiggins, farm-hands, of IJiinnythorpc. This was that the former go into camp from March 31 and that the latter perform training in April, May, and June. For S. It. Wiggins, father of reservist, Mr Oakley asked that K. L. Wiggins not enter camp until August 1 and that then hi; enter camp for the duration, G. K. Wiggins to do his training in May, June, and July. The board granted the request. The board continued its sitting to-day, tho following being the decisions: —N. 11. Kirk, engineering apprentice, resident in Feeding and employed in Palmerston North, appeal by Ilolben Electrical and Precision Engineering Coy.; adjourned fine die, reservist to remain in the Home Guard. L. J. Thomson, farmer, of Kopane, appeal by W. A. Thomson (Mr J. Gra ham); adjourned sine die. J. A. Conlan, dairy farmer, of Oroua Downs (Mr W. L. Fitzhcrberl); adjourned sine die, to re main in the Homo Guard. L. J. Parsons, farmer, of Kairanga, appeal by S. Par sons (Mr 11. R. Cooper); adjourned sine die, reservist to join the Home Guard. P. C. Alvp, civil servant, of Palmerston North, appeal on conscientious grounds against combatant service; to do non-com-batant service only in Now Zealand. T. 11, Fisher, medical practitioner, appeal by <T. If. North, medical superintendent of the Palmerston North 110? # ital; adjourned sine die. R. G. Irvine, of Palmerston North, dental surgeon, appeal by the medical superintendent of tho Christchurch Hospital,; adjourned until tho next sittings. L. G. Fliotoff, farm-hand, of Filzhorbert, dismissed for want of pro secution. T. A. King, farm labourer, of Ashhurst, appeal against combatant ser vice; to be posted to non-combatant service. L. C. Burlaco, apiarist's assistant, of Palmerston North, appeal on conscientious grounds against combatant service; to bo posted to non-combatant unit. H. J. Arnott, dairy farmer, of Tangimoana, appeal by G. J. Arnott; adjourned until next sitting. R. J. Knight, farm-hand, of Rongotea., appeal by N. 11. Knight (Mr H. R. Cooper); adjourned to next sitting at Palmerston North. DECISIONS AT MARTON.

At a sitting of the No. 3 Armed Forces Board in Marton, among the appeals heard were the following: Charles Frank Coleman, farm hand, Bulls (co-appellant ('. Coleman), adjourned sine die, appellant to join the. Homo Guard; Lloyd Wright .Simpson, farmer. Bulls (co-appcl-lant A. J. Simpson),, adjourned sine die, appellant, to do Territorial training from April 1 to June 30; Richard James Cole, sawmill band. Bulls (co-appellant, 1.. C. Funnell), adjourned sine die, to remain in Homo Guard; Arthur Hempden Kscott, farmer. Bulls (co-appellant M. li;cott and Sons), adjourned sine die, to remain in Home Guard; Clifford Norman Guy, Bulls, adjourned sine die, to do Territorial training from May 1 to July 31; James Kdward Shepherd, benchman and ' foreman, Bulk (co-appcllant Director of National Service), adjourned sine die, to remain in Home Guard.
