A JOB FOR LIFE!
NEW YORK. Mar. 23
Walter Winchell in his famous gossip column relates the stor.v of a shortwave radio conversation between two Japanese. One was telling the other what a swell job he had in the Philippines—all he had to do was to sit in a big tower waiting lor MaeArthur to _ raise the white flag. “Does it pay much?” asked his friend.
“Hell, no,” was the reply. “But it's a life job!”
The above story appeared in an overseas journal some months ago and was published in the “Manawatu Standard” shortly afterwards.
