SOLDIER PATIENTS
COMFORTS IN HOSPITAL. (Press Assn.) WELLINGTON, Jan. 1. A report received by the National Patriotic Fund . Board from its commissioner in the Middle East (Lieut.Colonel F. Waite), written when the Libyan campaign was at its height, describes the arrangements made lor the distribution of comforts to New Zealanders in hospital and on their way to hospital, and outlines the steps taken to , locate wounded New Zealanders in British and other hospitals. Colonel Waite explains that it is not always possible to put all the New Zealand sick and wounded in their own hospitals or to concentrate them in any particular locality'. To meet this difficulty arrangements had been made to send officers regularly to collect lists of New Zealand patients in the various hospitals so that they could bc( visited and would receive their share of patriotic comforts. Eventually all the New Zealand patients, he added, should be in their own hospitals, but the present position might exist for another month.
