The monthly meeting of the Palmerston North branch of the "Women's Division of the Farmers’ Union was held in Messrs ColJinson and Gunuingliame’s rooms yesterday afternoon, Airs AY- E. Field presiding over a good attendance. Alesdames J. A. Russell and Eiold gave reports on the provincial meeting held in Eeilding recently. It was decided to hold the last meeting of the year in Hie form of a social nhei'iioon. Arrangements were mado lor members to help at the patriotic shop 011 November 27, 28 and 29. Three new members were welcomed, Alesdames it. E, Blytli, R. Sinclair and A. G. Tremain. Letters were received from Alesdames Grant and FroeklLngtou thanking the members lor expressions ol sympathy in their recent bereavements. The United Guild acknowledged gilts from the AY.D.E.U. and a letter was received from Aiiss L Al. Banks (matron; thanking members F or old linen which had been sent to the Palmerston North Hospital, ft was decided to hold a garden party at the residence of Airs Russell in February. Aiiss Al. Alatlieson thanked the members who had helped at the A.N.A. G’lub and at the Y.AI.C.A. but over the week-end. Alembers were asked to help to pack parcels to send to the men overseas. Acknowledgment was made of a donation of 17s. Gd from Airs AVhitcombe, of Palmerston North. The ladies in charge of the bring and buy stall were Alesdames E. (lonian, Nicholls, H. Alii lard and E. Bond, good business being done. A competition was won by Airs Robertson.
