FATAL ACCIDENT.

FALL FROM SCAFFOLDING

One man died prior to his admission to hospital and another was injured in an accident this morning at the depot of the Atlantic Union Oil Gov., Ltd., on Boundary Road, near Kelvin Grove, both men being engaged in painting a large oil tank, when they fell about 25ft. The men involved are understood to be:— DIED OF INJURIES. A. Stewart, an elderly man, of Wellington. IN HOSPITAL. Percival Crawford, aged 38, of Wellington, abrasions to chest, condition satisfactory. When the accident occurred the two men were on a scaffolding suspended from the lip of the oil tank, which is .not unlike a gasometer. They were taken to the Hospital by ambulance, but so serious were Mr Stewart’s injuries that he died before admission. Further details of the accident' were not available when this edition went to press.
