Mrs Allan Gibson, of Fitzherbert Avenue, Palmerston North, has returned from a visit to Wellington. An enjoyable evening was spent at the home ol Mrs S. G. Nortliey, on Saturday evening, when a number ol friends and relatives gathered in honour the 78th birthday of Mrs C. IP. Spooner, Mrs Nortliey’s mother. The time was spent in progressive games, Mrs E. Copeland carrying olf most of the prizes. Among those present were Mr and Mrs C. F. Spooner, Mr and Mrs J. W. Spooner, Mr and Mrs V. G. Spooner, Mr and Mrs I. Hepworth, Mrs and Miss Copeland, Mrs \Volfenden (Auckland), Miss J. Nortliey, Mr A. Payne (Wellington) and Mrs Passmore.
