i (Rec. 30.40 a.m.) RUGBY, Oct. 7. J The Bill to prolong the lite of the I present Parliament lor .a further year was read the second time without i division. In a short debate it was pcuntcd out that a register of electors was last prepared in 10:39 and was now very stale, there having been great movements of population because of war serviceThe practical impossibility of compiling a new register was stressed. Contested by-elections, ifc was emphasised, showed there was no difference of opinion as to the necessity of prosecuting the war to the end. A Bill was also read the secoud time which prolongs the life of existing municipal and county councils for a further year.—Official Wireless.
