PRISONERS’ RATIONS.
CONVENTION NOT FULFILLED. RUGBY, Aug. 2. Information was recently received that the rations for British prisoners of war in German hands were reduced on June 3 in conformity with the reduction in the food allowance for the German civilian population. In actual fact, however. those reduced figures are no lower than the diet sheet known to have been in force in several camps for some time past. Repeated protests have beer, made to Germany concerning her failure to observe the terms of the convention as it applies to food rations. These representations are being renewed. The failure of Germany to fulfil these obligations fortunately does not mean that the health of British prisoners of war is likely to he endangered. Food parcels are being delivered in satisfactory numbers to the camps through the International Rod Cross Committee, mainly from supplies sent out by the British Red Cross Society. —Official Wireless.
