E.P.S. SERVICE.
(Press Assn.) GISBORNE. Aug. 2. A decision to make representations to the Government urging that compulsory powers bo provided for recruitment for the Emergency Precautions Service was reached unanimously at a meeting of the Gisborne executive of the organisation. It was pointed out that the key men for essential services wore tied up with the Home Guard and that, even if they were released, there was no means by which they could be compelled to serve in the capacity for which their training and experience best fitted them.
