CANADIAN DISPUTES.
(9 pm.) ARVIDA (Quebec), Aug. L 1 Alexis Daris, president of the National Catholic Syndicate of Alumini in Workers, in a Canadian Press interview to-day said the recent strike of 5000 workers wherein a serious disturbance and damage were caused, said the strike was due to five causes: (1) The failure of the company to reply to the demands of the syndicate; (2) higher deductions due to the defence tax rise; (3) deductions of unemployment insurance for the first time without sufficient explanation; (4) the heat • (5) the decreased bonus caused by the heat slowing down work Air Boris said the strike could not lie attributed to sabotage, to which it was ascribed hv the Alimster (Mr Hove). A. Hamilton (Ontario) message says the National Steel Car Corporation strikers have decided to resume work at 7 a.m. on Saturday.
