GRAIN AND PRODUCE.
(Press Assn.) CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 1. An increment of a halfpenny went oil to the price of wheat to day, Tuscan now ha ing 5s lOjd f.o.b. and other varieties higher. The final increment of another halfpenny will go on next month. Li!tie ' wheat is now left to deal with. Tho Kai. miro this week lifted 5500 sacks of pota toes for tho North Island and another boat is due to load at Timaru on Monday. The Tiniaru hoat will probably take more than 5500 sacks. The total shipments to the north in about four weeks will, by the end of next week, have been more than 50,000 sacks, and this lias had the effect of completely eliminating any enquiries on this market. Tho official report of tho Grain and Produce Alcrehants' Association to-day named £8 10s for Dakotas and whites and £9 10s for Buttons as current prices, but these figures are probably nominal as no business has been done. Other markets are very quiet
