CHRISTCHURCH HUNT.
TO-MORROW'S FIELDS. (By “Spectator.”) Racing as it does a week prior to the opening of the Grand National meeting, the Christchurch Hunt Club usually 4attracts the best of the jumping brigade, and this year is no exception. The seven acceptors for the Homebv Steeplechase are iall engaged in the Grand National Steeplechase, in fact the current indications are that to-morrow’s field will bo exactly the same as the Grand National _ field. The position is somewhat similar in the Longbcach Hurdles Handicap, the top seven acceptors in which also figure in the Grand National Hurdles. The Brabazon Handicap provides the last opportunity for Winter Cup candidates to have a run, and although not a valuable race a£ far as the. stake money is concerned, there are 29 acceptors. The keenest students of form desirous of obtaining a line on the Grand National carnival make the Hunt meeting very successful because of the attendance, but the form shown has often proved to bo very misleading. It doeu, however, give the jumpers a chance to try out tho National country.
Horses which may be fancied in their engagements are: — Hunt Club Cup.—Pride o’ Central, Polar Star, Battlevalc. Lawford Hack and Hunters’ Steeples.— Supcrex, Ruling Star, Austral Flu 111 Maiden Stakes. —Gunga Din, Kernel, Renardc. Hoinebv Steeples. —Slayer-Whirr bracket. Bally Brit, l)oz.ic Boy. Camla Hack Handicap.—Ann Mic, Force, Hurry Girl. . Ixmgbcach Hurdles.—Foxiana, Dividend, Tide-waiter. Brabazon Handicap.—Gayest Son, St. Cloud, Wings of Song.
