FINNISH RELATIONS.
BREAK WITH BRITAIN
(Itec. 12.45 p.m.) RUGBY, July .28. Finland has decided to break off diplomatic relations with Britain. The decision was communicated by the Finnish Foreign Minister to Mr G. Vercker (British Minister at Helsinki) after the Foreign Minister handed Mr Vereker a, message informing him that Finland was a co-belligerent with Germany and that normal diplomatic relations between Britain «nd Finland could hardly be maintained. 1 n reply to Mr Vereker's question "whether this statement meant that Finland was requesting the severance of diplomatic relations, the Foreign Minister replied that this was ,so. It is regretted in London that Finland has brought herself to a position in which it is possible for German pressure to compel her to sever her diplomatic relations with Britain, who, in consideration of her friendship with Finland, refrained from taking the same measures as she took in the case of Rumania, Bulgaria, and Hungary when these countries allowed themselves to become collaborators of the Nazi aggressor.—Official Wireless.
