The Seamen's Mission at the nearest port recommissions and outfits these unfortunate victims; the .Seamen's Mission acts as a kind mother to sailors the world over, irrespective of rank or creed. Shortly a Merchant Navy Street Day collection will be taken in Palmerston North and a subscription list has been opened so that citizens may make donations to the fund. The following are acknowledged by the committee and donors may if they so desire forward their donations to the “Manawatu Standard”:
