The Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr I’arry) lias advised the Manawatu Amateur Cine Society that bis recent remarks about the tiro danger oi shoving cine films in private homes did not apply to the screening of noninflammable Bmm or 16mm film. Ibe position was that the Government viewed with concern the fact that a number of private persons possessed 35mm projectors which wore used for screening inflammable films. Apart from the fire hazard involved in the screening of such film, this practice bad resulted in the storing of quantities of much inflammable film in premises not adequately protected and approved bv the Chief Inspector undei the Cinematograph Films Act, 1925.
