■Washington.—A now tvpe of explosive, the details of which have not been revealed, has been developed by the navy. A new plant costing 70,000,000 dollars will be erected ro meet tho needs of the army, navy, and Britain.
Tho theft of a bicycle headlamp valued at 15s was admitted by a youth, aged 19, whose name was suppressed, in the Magistrate's Court to-day. Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M., presided. Sergeant IV.’ J.' Brown represented the police and Mr A. M. Ongloy appeared for accused. The ease was adjourned sine die. W-
