CITIZENS’ LUNCH CLUB.

The economic and political history of the United States of America was dealt with at the weekly nicotine; of the Palmerston North Citizens’ Lunch Club yesterday in an address by Mr A. M. Lascelles. Mr W. 13. Tennent presided. Tracing the progress of the country since its discovery by Columbus in 1492 up to the present time, Mr Lascelles reviewed outstanding incidents and dealt with the United States aid to Britain in the present conflict. A vote of thanks to the speaker was accorded on the call of Mr Tennent.
