NAZI BUTCHERY
AUSTRALIAN, WOUNDED. (United L’ress Association —-Copyright) (Ree. 2.25 p.m.) CAIRO, May 30. Members of the Adolf Hitler Guard cold-bloodedly murdered Australian wounded on the battlefields of Greece. Officers of the A.I.F. have recounted a number of instances of deliberate butchery of wounded Australians felt lying on the field of battle. A young Australian captain tells how iiis battery, after the hardest fighting, was surrounded and nearly wiped out. Ho decided to .feign death to try to get out at night time so lay down among the dead. Fanatical Nazi youths of the Hitler Guard moved across the battlefield, kicking the bodies of the Australian soldiers in the stomach. Lf a man was “dead” and made a movement he was immediately shot through the head.
