London. —The Corporation of the City of London may buy all the land on which the citv stands, an area of 673 acres with a rateable value of £8,300,000, the richest square mile in the world. This vast scheme is one of many the corporation is considering a- a. solution of the enormous problems inevitable when post-war reconstruction is undertaken, tantamount to the rebuilding after the Great Fire of 1666.
