SOLDIERS’ PARCELS

ZONE QUOTA. Fifteen cases of soldiers’ parcels from Feilding and district went forward to Wellington this week, representing a total of 2G5 parcels. This is part of the zone quota of GOO parcels lor. this despatch and the figures indicate the assistance' which is being accorded this effort. The local depot for receiving parcels, which is located at the Borough Council Chambers, has been particularly busy with the ladies’ patriotic organisation engaged in the task of making up the packages. The task is no light one, but is being handled most willingly by the ladies, who are grateful for the manner in which citizens and settlers throughout the town and district have responded. It is the district’s unfailing responsibility to make sure that every soldier receives a parcel and so long as the quota is fulfilled at 'every call the patriotic committee is’ satisfied. The allocations are made in Wellington and as soon as it arrives it is immediately necessary to invite donations from all who wish to see that our soldiers receive a parcel. The following further donations are acknowledged: Mrs 1). G. Carrick and Mrs W. W. Andrews, one parcel each; Mesdames L. F. Pearce. C. V. Jewell, B. Maunsell. W. A. Bailey. A. C.
