The railing of seasoned pinna insignia timber from Rotorua to Wellington is facilitated by an alteration to the general scale of charges' announced by the Minister of Railways, Hon. R. Semple. Whereas the old rales referred to loads only up to 6003 superficial feet, the amended rales provide for loads up to 12.000 ft. This _is believed to be due to the increased activity of the State sawmill at. Whakarcwarewa.
