Thompson, a soldier, of Foxton military camp, who pleaded guilty of the theft of a bicycle in Palmerston North, was admitted to probation for years. For failing to register under the National Emergency Service Regulations. 1. G. Green was fined (2, with costs 10s. On a similar charge K. C. Swan (Feilding) pleaded guilty and was fined £2, with costs 12s. Senior-Sergeant Mclntyre read a statement made by Swan in which he admitted he had not registered. He objected to serving in the forces. Although urged to do so by his employer and given time off work to register, he had not done it, hut had told his employer that he had. A registration form had., however, now been tilled in. G. 11. V. Simpson, licensee of the Imperial Hotel, was charged with keeping his premises open for the sale of liquor on Anzac Day and with selling liquor. J. T,. Anderson, a barman, was charged with supplying the liquor. Air A. AI. Ongley appeared for defendants, who pleaded guilty. Air Ongley explained that the licensee wa indisposed and in l>od at tlie time of the offence. The licensee was fined £7 with costs 10s, and the barman £2, with cods 10s.
