NEGOTIATED PEACE.
ENEAIY KITE FLYING. LONDON, -May 19. The Vichy correspondent of the British United Press says that a section of the German-controlled Paris Press has opened a concerted campaign urging President Roosevelt to mediate m order to eiul the war by a negotiated peace. The newspapers assert that the alternative .is that the United States will be drawn into a long war. The Lyons radio to-day announced that a large bomb exploded in Alarscilles last night, causing considerable but unspecified damage to buildings. The Berlin radio declared that a timebomb exploded in the Marseilles Synagogue. The Official News Agency at A ichy denied New York reports that a German occupation of Dakar was envisaged during the talks between Admiral Darlan and Hitler.
