PRIMARY PRODUCERS.

CLOSER CO-OPERATION. WELLINGTON, May 20. Suggestions for the closer co-opera-tion of primary producers’ organisations were considered at a conference held in the offices of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union in Wellington. The following resolutions were adopted : “That this conference affirms the necessity of the several sections of primary producers’ organisations cooperating closely for the purpose of promoting the best interests of all producers.” “That this conference is convinced that the future welfare of the primary industries of New Zealand is dependent on the better and closer organisation of farmers and farmers’ organisations, and strongly urges that every primary -producers’ annual conference and annual meeting agree to the early establishment of a farmers’ federation.” “To this end a representative eom- | mittee he set up immediately to evolve [a plan of campaign and a tentative constitution for such a federation.” The conference decided that it he executive should consist of eleven I members, distributed among organise- ; tions as follows —Meat Board and I Electoral College (2 members); Dairy! Board and Dairy Council (2) ; Sheepowners’ Federation (1); Poultry Board (1); Fruit Board (!)' ; Pig 'Council (I); bobby calf pools (1); I New Zealand Farmers’ Union (1); [honey, tobacco, small fruits (I). | The personnel of the committee will be: Meat Board and Electoral College (names of the two members to he announced) ; Dairy Board and Dairy Council. Messrs W. E. Hale and W. Marshall; Shcepowncrs’ federation, Mr H. D. Acl and: Poultry Board (name of member to be announced) ; Fruit Board, Mr 'l'. C. Brash; Pig Council. Mr T. J. Davies; hobby calf pools. Mr W. G. Belton ; New Zealand Farmers’ Union, Mr IV. W. Mulholland; honey, tobacco and small fruit, Mr IC. J. Holyoake. The following were appointed an executive committee with power to co-opt representatives of organisations with special : Messrs W. E. Dale. T. Duncan. H D. Aeland. W. W. Mulholland, W. Marshall and T C Brash.
