SEQUEL TO HESS AFFAIR. MULTITUDE OF ARRESTS. (United Press Association Copyright' (Bee. II a.m.) LONDON, May 18 The 8.8. C., in a broadcast to Germany, said there were widespread reports of an extensive purge in Germany and many arrests .of associates of Herr Hess, especially occultists. A message from Gothenburg (Sweden) says the Gotcborg Poston’s iierlin correspondent reports that Jb’rau Hess was arrested two days ago. A multitude of arrests have followed Hess’s flight, including hundreds in Berlin. The police arc even arresting anyone caught discussing the Hess affair. The correspondent adds that secret police are questioning Professor Messersehmitt about the plane Hess used.
