NEW GOVERNMENT

LABOUR IN N.S.W. SYDNEY, Alav 13. The deleati'il Premier (Air Alair) today tender*' the resignation of the New South Wales G overn ment. The Labour Leader (Air AlcKell) ! later saw' the Governor (Loro Wakehurst) and intimated that lie would be able to announce the names of the new Labour Ministry possibly next Monday. No marked change lias occurred in the election position as the result of to-day’s checking of the polling figures. Indications are that Labour will have a majority of 18 over the other parties, including Independents. At the moment it would appear that Labour will have 55 seats. United Australia 17, United Country 12, and Independents C. Grim fights are going on in some doubtful electorates, including that ot Mr Arair. and the margin whereby three of his Af inisters mav be defeated wiH-.be exceedingly small. They will probably not know their fate till the end of the week.
