EVENING WEDDING.

THOMPSON—BRACKEN. A wedding of interest to Ecilding and Sanson districts was solemnised at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Ecilding, on Saturday, April 26, when Annie Rose Agnes Bracken, only daughter ol Air and Airs C. C. Lawrence, “Elburton,” Sanson, was married to Ernest James, elder son ot Air and Mrs C. H. Thompson, ot Kopanc. The church was beautilull.v decorated by friends of the bride and Rev. A. L. .Dixon performed the ceremonv.

When the bride arrived at the church site was piped in by Air I. A. 1 AtcJntyre, of Awahuri. Escorted by her grandfather. Air J. Hastie, she wore a model 1 rock of Queen Elizabeth blue, the yoke being ornamented with clover lieading and tiny buttons made a finish to the back. She wore a black hat with shoulder veil and carried a bouquet of clover-shaded chrysanthemums, pom-pom dahlias, and maidenhair fern. A triple string of pearls, the gift of the bridegroom, completed her toilette. Aliss C. Palmer, of Dannevirke. cousin of the bride, attended as bridesmaid, wearing a frock of sea-blue with floral trimming. She wore a hat and shoes to match and carried a bouquet in similar shades to that of the bride. Mr J. Thomson, ol Kairanga. was best man. and . ■‘lie ushers were Messrs A. Humphrey and .J. Bracken. On leaving Hie church, the bride was presented with a lucky horseshoe by little Lorraine Humphrey, niece of the bridegroom.

Alter Hie ceremony a reception was held, when the. guests were received by Mrs Lawrence, who wore a navy costume with hat in the same shade mid matching accessories, also a fur ■Hole. Her shoulder spray was in autumn innings. ’flic bridegrooms mother assisted, wearing a navy costume, navy hat. and fur stole, her spray being also in autumn shades. Later, the happy couple left on their honeymoon amid showers of confetti, the bride wearing over her iroek a Itla.ek tailored cloth coat with smart handbag, shoos, and cloves to match. I’lieir future home will be in Palmerston North.
