WAR ON U-BOATS

EXPERT’S ESTIMATE. (Rec. 2.10 p.m.) LONDON. May 12. Commander Punsey, contributing to Brassey’s Naval Annual, 1941, estimates it is likely since the new Üboats began to come into commission last May that 70 per cent, had been sunk. “It should be possible to improve the rate, but even the present rale ia probably greater than the German replacement of U-boats,” he savs. “It is certainly greater than the available supply of efficient crews.”
