Under the deft direction of Sam Wood. famed for “Good bye, Mr Chips” and “Our Town,” they are a maurauding trio who live, love and tight in the best traditions of Robin Hood and D’Artagnan. 1 lie story of “Rangers of Fortune” centres about the battle these three encounter when they throw in their lots with a crusading newspaper publisher against at powerful land-grabbing gang. The story of how a group of ambitious youngsters surmount their difficulties and produce a successful show is told 'in Paramount’s bright new musical, “Dancing on a Dime.” which is the second big feature of the Meteor to-morrow. The picture is laid against the background of the last days of the old Garrick, Theatre m New York. While rehearsing for a show in the theatre, the troupe learns that their financial support has boon withdrawn and unless a new backer can be found, the theatre will be torn down to make wav for a parking lot. Unable to pay their rent, the youngsters move into and live in the theatre. After a few exciting escapades with counterfeit monev, they eventually secure a hacker and the show goes on. The east is comprised almost, entirely of up-and-coming young players, including Robert Paige, Grace McDom aid, Peter Ilayes. Eddie Quillan, Frank Jcuks and Virginia Dale.
