A Stableford bogey competition played at the Marton links on Saturday resulted in a win for A. Fullerton-Smith with 37 points. The competition for t.lie Tolley Button played at Iho Hawkcstonc links resulted in a. win for P. Gronn, 85 —18—67. with R. C. Ball returning the next best card, 83-12-71. The, Rangitikei Ladies’ Hotkey Association’s eompotition games began on Saturday And resulted: —Rata 2 v. Iluntervillc 1 ; Kia Ora 7 v. Bulls 2. Tdeal weather for football prevailed on Saturday at Marton and consequently some bright games wore seen. Tn tho senior division Old Boys beat Ohingaiii. 11—0. Tries for Old Boys were scored by J. Duncan and Coles, Marshall converting one. Huntcrvillc beat Bulls, ft —4. Tho third grade games resulted Old Boys 23 v. Flock House 14; Bulls 14 v. Iluntervillo 3. Exercises in defence and attack were carried out by the Marton Homo Guard on Saturday afternoon, in the vicinity of “Bcllvue,” some two miles from Marton. Lieutenant R. W. Turner was in charge of the parade, which numbered about 60.
