SURPRISE ATTACK

AERODROMES IN SICILY. TRIPOLI ALSO BOMBED. (United Press Association.—Copyright.) LONDON, May 11. An air communique from the Middle East stales that bombers of the R.A.F. made a "surprise attack on the aerodromes at Catania and Camiso, in Sicily, to-day. At Catania three Heinkel ill planes and one Junkers S 8 were attacked and seriously damaged and troops were machine-gunned as they ran lor shelter.

At Camiso one. Messerschmitt 109 was destroyed and 30 officers machinegunned One Junkers 52, two bombers and a number of others were set on lire and leit burning fiercely. A he avy bombing attack was also made on Tripoli harbour, where severe damage was done on the Spanish mole and at other points, where several fires were caused.

From these operations all of our aircraft returned safely.
