Miss Mary Matthews, of Manapouri Crescent, returned home hist week from Tiii ha po. Miss M. O'Conncll, of Sanson, lists returned home after a three week's visit to the Wairarapa. Mrs A. Blakemoro, of Gisborne,. and formerly, of Palmerston North, was a recent visitor to the city. Owing to flooding of the links there was no competition for members of the Manawatii bailies' Golf Club to-day. Miss Pamela Buchanan, of Lockwood, Kairanga, and Miss Judith C'opeland, of Martin Street, leave tomorrow lor a holiday in Christehurch. Miss Kathleen Moseley, house mispress and senior /'teacher of music at Wycombe Abbey School, one of the leading girls' schools in England, has been appointed principal of AVoodford House. Havclock North, in succession to Miss D. M. Holland, who is lo retire at the end of this ycai after 19 years sis principal.
