Weather condition.- weto favourali'c for duck shooting in the 'Rangitikei district, hut the hugs secured on opening day were below (lie overage. The principal tallies reported are: —Lake Hunia, 50 ducks. 8 guns: Luke Beamish, 50 ducks, 5 guns: Lake Alice, 56 ducks,. 8 guns: Blind Island, 40 ducks, 5 guns: Lake Herbert, 14 ducks, 2 guns: Holt Simpson's, 23 duck.s. 6 guns; Lake Awamate, 30 ducks. 3 guns: Boss Lake, 23 ducks, 2 guns; Lake Waimingi, 40 ducks, 4 guns; Flock House, 27 ducks, 3 guns. At Parcwanui. Mr Callescn's party got 17 for 3 guns; and Mr 11. Bower) and party secured 58 for 4 guns. On the river Mr Fred Simpson got 14 ducks.
