CIVIL ESTIMATES GROW

(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, May 1. The total civil estimates of L'34.298,•535, announced by the Treasury represent an increase of £11,755,947 on the 1940 figures. The actual increase of the revenue departments is £13,325,360, but there is a decrease of 113 in non-revenue civil estimates. Provision is included for temporary staff employed as substitutes for men serving with the Forces or engaged on war work.
