Meteor Theatre—America's greatest living composer. Jerome Kern, furnished lhe musical score of five original numbers in Uuiversal's romantic comedy feature, "Cue. Night in the Tropics," now showing at the. Meteor Theatre. A reunion of star and composer was marked when .Mian Jones was assigned a stellar role opposite Nancy Kelly in the new film. Jones made one of his initial hits in the 1936 Universal film version of "Showboat," which boosted one of Kern's most memorable. scores. In "One Night in the Tropics" Jones sings three of the new numbers by the veteran composer of the scores for "Sally," "Sunny," "Roberta" and many other succcsse.-. "Von and Your Kiss," "Simple Philosophy" and "Your Dream" are the numbers sung by Jones. Miss Kelly makes a vocal debut by singing "Your Dream," Peggy Mcran, young leading lady who has her jno-it important role to date, also sings fur the firs! lime when she vocalises Kern's "Remind Me." Regent Theatre. "March of Time's" latest issue brings to the screen an exclusive story of the Royal Air Force, showing how the R.A.F. has been built up within the past year and how it is to-day the first line of defence in the Battle of Britain. With actual seeniw of battle, the film shows how the swift Spitfires and Hurricanes of the R.A.F. are daily fighting off the massed fleets of attacking Nazi bombers, and how Britain's own bombers arc carrying the air war back to the Nazi "invasion" bases on the French and Belgian Channel coasts, and even into the heart of Germany itself. Have you a Dulcy in your neighbourhood? You know tlje kind of girl who can always be depended upon to say the wrong thing at the right time—or is it Hie right thing at the wrong time? Jf you have, you've probably wanted to shut her off —and if you haven't, well, you don't know what you've missed. But just lo prove that Dulcys can be useful and ornamental as well, Metro Goldwyn-Mayer have built an entire story around her, a story called "Dulcy" and starring your favourite comedienne, Ann Sothern.
