HOME GUARD UNIFORMS

MEASUREMENTS TAKEN. Members of the City South Battalion of the Home (-uard, together with the V (Youth) Company, have been measured, and the members of the City North Battalion will be measured next week, to provide a standard for the size of the uniforms lor guardsmen throughout Now Zealand. There is not yet any definite indication when uniforms will be issued, but the measuring of guardsmen to ascertain the general outline of requirements for uniforms, hats, and boots is regarded with considerable satisfaction among officers and men alike. A conference oi district commanders of the Home Guard will be neld in Palmerston North on May 17, when matters of equipment, uniforms, boots, the training syllabus and other sul>jects will be discussed with the Officer Commanding the Home Guard (MajorGeneral R. Young).
