RUGBY FOOTBALL
OPENING OF SEASON. Rugby fool ball ill tbc Manawalu will open on Saturday, the featured senior match being between Old Boys and SL Patrick’s at the Sportsground oval, commencing at 3 p.m. The curtain-raiser w.l be between the High School and Old Boys’ junior teams, this game opening at 130 p.m. The Sportsground (which is being used owing to the Showgrounds being occupied by the military authorities) is m excellent order and an interesting match should he provided ill the senior fixture, while the junior encounter should also be well worth witnessing. Buses leavo the Square at 1.30 p.m. and 2.30 p.m At Bedding 1 United will meet the ]<Gilding and Old’ Boys side and here again the match should be a good one. It is to commence at 3 p.m.
