SCIENTIFIC CO-OPERATION
(British Official Wireless.) (Bee. 12.15 p.m.) RUGBY, April 29. Replying in the House of Commons to a question, the Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs (Mr R. A. Butler) stated that, after consultation with the appropriate authorities in the United States, the British Government had drawn up a comprehensive scheme which had already been put into operation lor co-operation in scientific matters with the United States. Dr. Darwin (director of the National Rhvsical Laboratory) has been sent as director of a central scientific office working under the direction of the British Supply Council in North America. Dj. Darwin will collaborate with the United States research bodies and act as a channel for exchange with the appropriate authorities of technical and scientific information. He will also generally co-ordinate scientific and technical' inquiries to and from the United States authorities.
