The latest news on the situation in Greece is contained in a communique issue.d at General Headquarters in Cairo. This states that the withdrawal of the British and Anzac troops continues satisfactorily. Stating that on the first sitting day after this week it is proposed to make arrangements for a. general debate on the progress of the war, the Prime Minister (Mr Winston Churchill) said the terms of the resolution would be:—“This House approves the policy of His Majesty's Govment in sending help to Greece, and declares its confidence that our operations in the Middle East, as in all the other theatres of war, will be pursued by the Government with the utmost vigour.” Replying to subsequent questions, Mr Churchill said the debate would be in public .and could, if the House wished, be continued on the second sitting day. He intimated that it was probable the Foreign Secretary (Mr Eden) would take an imporfant part in the debate.
