Sir,—The excellent response of the public on Thursday last to the appeal lor “funds for comforts for our boys in the lighting services is much appreciated by the Manawatu Women's Patriotic Committee which organised the appeal. The amount raised, £BB 7s 6d, is a very gratifying result and the committee desires to express its sin* cercst thanks to all those who assisted, particularly the liower sellers, the school children, and those nurserymen and residents who gave so generously of flowers and seedlings from their gardens.—We are, etc., . .
