WAIATA INSTITUTE

The Afril meeting of the Waiata Women’s Institute was held at the home of Mrs Redshaw, Afrs Chambers presiding. Each member had brought a knitted peggy square which is to be used for quilt-making for the refugees. Mrs Chambers gave a demonstration on hair-wave setting which was closely followed. The thought for the day was given by Airs Chambers. The roll-call, “What I enjoy most on the wireless,” brought forth many varied answers. The competition for three squares of puff pastry resulted; Airs Redshaw 1, Airs Billet 2. Airs Alulholland 3; written competition (in the charge of Airs Redshaw), Airs Chambers 1, Airs Alillcr 2, Aliss Frazer 3; bloom, Airs Chambers 1, Airs Redshaw 2, Aliss Frazer 3.
