COMMONWEALTH LOAN
PROMPT RESPONSE. (Poe. 9.15 a.tn.) SYDNEY, April 30. A “Win the War Rally" and stirring military scenes, together with a radio-telephone address by the Lord Mayor of London, marked the official launching of the Commonwealth's £35,000.000 war and works loan at the Town Hall last night. The speakers all made a strong; appeal on behalf of the loan. At the close of the rally it was announced that nearly ton millions had already been subscribed, ehiefiv by insurance companies, one of which applied for two and a half millions, while two other companies contributed threeu quurters of a million each.
